When heading out to Mendocino, off the coast of northern California, one of my favorite foodie places to visit in town is the charming Mendocino Jams & Preserves shop. Years ago, I discovered this little shop with it’s delectable offering of jams, preserves, chutneys, dessert sauces, honey, and condiments. One of my favorites is the olallieberry jam… which full of berry goodness! And I mean, with whole pieces of berries. I usually have a couple of jars shipped back home, especially since they take care of that right in their shop. Then you won’t need to feel “food stranded!”
Their products are so amazing because they use the best quality local whole ripe fruit with natural pectin and sugar for their jams and preserves. I especially like that their jams are not too sweet so the ripeness of the fruit really stands out. Their high quality extends into their other products which are all made in small batches in stainless steel pots. Just like my grandmother used to make!
We are also so very excited that Mendocino Jams & Preserves now carries our Stranded Foodie “Real Chocolate Sprinkles.” The next time you are in Mendocino, make sure to stop by and pick up some jars of our sprinkles with your jam purchase. It’s the perfect choice to top your ice cream, frozen yogurt, cupcakes, hot chocolate, or anything you can imagine! They also make a great gift for the chocolate lovers in your life. And it’s made with real Guittard Chocolate, so you know they’re good.
During my Mendocino visit, I also stopped by the Cafe Beaujolais bread shop (down the street) to pick up a loaf of their freshly baked bread, I carved off a slice and slathered on some Mendocino Jam with their house made peanut butter to enjoy. And did a little happy dance… oh, so tasty good!

Growing up, I loved the real chocolate sprinkles at our neighborhood ice cream parlor, but could never find them anywhere else. Now here they are! Shower them over every sweet thing you bake or scoop. Pour them over every frothy thing you whip up. Once these thunderously rich chocolate tidbits tantalize your nose and touch your tongue, you’ll never settle for anything less. They’re made in America with real Guittard chocolate, so you know they’re good. Long may they rain!
